Community Garden Program

The Village of Howard hosts a community garden on the Fire Station #2 property on Shawano Avenue at Milltown Road. The garden was reconfigured for the 2020 gardening season and now features six plots that are 20'x40' in size and nine larger plots that are 40'x40' in size. The 20'x40' plots are just $20 for the season, and the 40'x40' sites cost $40 each.

The garden season runs May 1 through Nov. 1. Returning gardeners may reserve their same plots during the month of March each year. New gardeners who are Howard residents may reserve one plot beginning in April. Additional plots for all gardeners, including those who desire multiple plots and non-residents are available after May 1.

Normally plots must be reserved and paid in person at Howard Village Hall. However, due to the COVID-19 pandemic, registration forms and payments may be mailed to Howard Village Hall, 2456 Glendale Ave., Howard, WI  54313 or dropped in the outside drop box. Plots are reserved on a first-come, first-serve basis by return of the signed paperwork and fee. For more information, call (920) 434-4640.
