The Emerald Ash Borer (EAB) was confirmed in the city of Green Bay by the Wisconsin Department of Agriculture, Trade, and Consumer Protection (WDATCP) in 2009.

The Village of Howard has created and adopted an Emerald Ash Borer Readiness Plan to help guide management decisions to minimize the economic, aesthetic, and ecological impacts on the village's urban forest when this insect arrives. As of January 2017, EAB has been found in the Village of Howard.

Treatments Options

EAB treatment options for protecting and saving the ash trees using insecticides is continuously being researched by many universities. At the current time research has shown that no product available is 100% effective at protection or saving already infested trees. A property owner should research and educate themselves on the most current information available before deciding on insecticide options.
