COMMUNITY DEVELOPMENT SERVICES
The Community Development Departments aligns several traditional functions of village government under a single umbrella. Those functions include planning, building inspection, code enforcement, leisure services, and local economic development. The creation of the Community Development department was largely in response to the Village's growth in the past decade.
The Village of Howard has become one of the fastest growing areas in the State of Wisconsin. Per the 2010 census, the Village has grown 28.4% (3,853 resident increase) since the year 2000. Howard is now the 3rd largest community in Brown County, trailing only the City of Green Bay and the City of DePere.
TRANSPORTATION INFRASTRUCTURE
With over 22 square miles of area and immediate access to Interstate 43, US Highway 41 and State Highway 29, the Village is primed for growth in the coming years. In addition highway access, the Village also has direct rail access and is within five (5) miles of the Green Bay International Airport.
